~ Photo Session Information ~
Clothing Suggestions: I like to keep the focus on the subject, so simple clothing choices work best. Solid colors work well. For family sessions, it is recommended that each family member has the same tone, not necessarily color. Be wary of stripes, plaid, words and logo's. They can be a distraction from you. White clothing can reflect strongly, so it is best to use sparingly. Hats and other accessories can be effective.
Senior Portraits; Don't worry about minor breakouts or complexion issues, we can try to fix these post session. You can bring items that help define who you are and make you unique. Feel free to bring items such as a soccer ball or guitar. Use your creativity. They will assist in visually telling us who you are.
Ladies: The little details do matter. If you wear makeup, slightly heavier does work well with photographs, but don't over do it. Translucent powder helps eliminate shine. Most likely your fingernails (and toenails if you have open toe footwear) may show in the photo, so make certain they look nice as well. Bring along any hair accessories for easy style changes. Jewelry is best kept simple. For black and white images outside, wearing black is best. A black top and a pair of jeans offers a nice contrast between your skin and clothing. Don't be afraid of colors for your colored photos.
Gentlemen: If you want to wear a hat for some of your images, please don't wear it until it is time for the shot. That way your hair stays natural and there won't be red lines on your forehead. Bring clothing that will look good in black and white images, such as a black or dark shirt. Don't be afraid of colors for your colored photos. Jeans, khakis, plain t-shirts, button down shirts, ties and coats work well.
Lastly, enjoy your photo session, I want to make this memory a fun one.
